AbstractAnaphylaxis is a relatively uncommon event in pregnancy that can have serious implications for both mother and fetus. A case is presented of anaphylaxis to intravenous (IV) ampicillin given during labor, and the pertinent literature is reviewed. Maternal morbidity occurred after the use of IV epinephrine. Fetal outcome was good, presumably as a result of prompt delivery near term. The management of anaphylaxis in pregnancy is reviewed.
