AbstractThree patients with tularemia pneumonia developed adult respiratory distress syndrome and required positive end-expiratory pressure for adequate oxygenation. Rapid improvement was noted following appropriate antibiotic therapy, and mechanical ventilation was successfully discontinued after six to eight days.
