AbstractNorcuron, a new, non-depolarizing muscle relaxant has been used for anaesthesia of 48 obstetrical and gynaecological operations. The product could assure the required neuromuscular blockade in all discussed operation types when given either in single or repeated doses. It's action developed rapidly and, if required, it could be antagonized within a short period. The drug had no unfavourable circulation influencing side-effect and could be combined with the used anaesthetics. In newborns delivered by Caesarean section pathological changes were observed nor in Apgar scores, neither in the cardiorespiratory adaptation.
