AbstractPostoperative infection after operative hysteroscopy is uncommon. However, patients who have a past history of pelvic inflammatory disease appear to be at risk of developing such infections, including tuboovarian abscesses. Prophylactic antibiotics during operative hysteroscopy appear to be effective in preventing this problem.
