AbstractGroup A streptococcal necrotizing fasciitis is a rare disease associated with high mortality. Since severe toxic shock syndrome is a common complication, only immediate and aggressive surgical intervention, adequate antimicrobial therapy and supportive intensive care can be life-saving. We report about successful treatment of a 60-year old patient with necrotizing fasciitis and multiple organ failure.
