AbstractIn this case study we report on a patient with advanced myxofibrosarcoma and lung metastases, suffering from severe dyspnoea. Symptoms were not manageable by means of standard palliative care, which made palliative sedation therapy necessary in order to alleviate dyspnoea. On the basis of this case study, indications, drugs, therapy monitoring and ethical aspects of palliative sedation therapy are discussed.
