AimThe objective of this review is to update the State of the Art of the overuse, overdiagnosis and overtreatment in Mental Health.MethodsA narrative review was carried out using Medline database until 2018 and overdiagnosis related papers were selected if that was the main scope of the article, either by discusing or accounting about overdiagnosis, not just mention it.ResultsMore than 200 references were obtained related to overuse in Mental Health, 40 of the already a review. Most of them focussed on diagnostic criterias instead of estimating overdiagnosis in Mental Health. Anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder and atention deficit disorder were among the most common topics in the references.ConclusionThe lack of objective criterias and the variety in the terminology could facilitate overdiagnosis in Mental Health.
