AbstractNear-infrared spectroscopy allows for real-time, noninvasive measurement of cerebral hemodynamics and oxygenation at the bed-side. This article describes animal and clinical research using near-infrared spectroscopy to study cerebral hemodynamic function in the fetus, neonate, and child.
