AbstractBuprenorphine is a partial mu agonist opioid that is FDA-approved to manage opioid addiction in settings outside of traditional methadone clinics. The clinical uses, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, toxicology, and management of overdoses of buprenorphine are reviewed.
