AbstractRoutine laryngoscopy can be performed easily and quickly utilizing a right-angle telescope with a specially designed holder. In 1,000 consecutive laryngoscopies done on patients without laryngeal symptoms, abnormalities were found in 173 patients (17.3 percent). Among the abnormalities was an asymptomatic carcinoma which, thanks to early detection, was successfully treated by radiation.
