AbstractThe authors discuss one of the aspects of symptomatic therapy of oncological diseases--control of the pain syndromes. They elucidate the method of operations in the light of the latest advancements in medical technology. The first results of stereotaxic extralemniscus myelotomy in the USSR are discussed. The indications for chordotomy and myelotomy and their results in pain syndromes of oncological genesis are shown.
