    AbstractA patient developed accidental total spinal anaesthesia, 75 minutes after administration of epidural anaesthesia, despite conventional precautions to prevent this complication. The anaesthetic technique and the intra- and postoperative course are detailed, and possible explanations for the sequence of events discussed.
