AbstractStatins possess an excellent safety profile and are generally well tolerated when administered in the standard once-daily dosing regimen. A small percentage of patients however, discontinue therapy because of adverse events such as myalgias. The investigators describe 8 patients with previous intolerance to daily statin dosing and examine their responses to once-weekly rosuvastatin therapy. In conclusion, once-weekly rosuvastatin may be a feasible and effective option for patients previously intolerant to once-daily statin dosing.
