AbstractProviding epidural analgesia in patients with scoliosis may be challenging. We describe ultrasound-guided insertion of an epidural catheter for labour analgesia and a following caesarean section in a patient with a thoracolumbar scoliosis. A well-functioning epidural catheter was easily inserted on the first attempt without any need for redirections of the epidural needle. Use of ultrasound imaging to guide epidural needle insertion site and trajectory can be a valuable tool in managing patients with scoliosis.
