AbstractThe 12-lead ECG is extremely valuable in helping the critical care nurse detect the presence of myocardial ischemia, injury, and infarction. With an understanding of the 12-lead ECG, the nurse can relate the ECG findings to the patient's coronary artery disease and can anticipate the clinical consequences both for the functioning of the cardiac muscle and for the cardiac conducting system.
