    AbstractRapid preparation of the trauma patient for early transfer is crucial for optimal outcome. Working together with the staff of the receiving trauma center will ensure that a consistent treatment approach is given to all injured patients. A pretransfer checklist is often helpful (Table 3), and can be made in partnership with your regional trauma center. Preparing a patient for transfer will not vary much from normal practice, but it must be done promptly. You make the difference.
