AbstractIn the literature epilepsy is described as the most common cause of generalized seizures. Vertebral body fractures are a rare complication of epileptic convulsions, occurring with an incidence of 3%. We present the case of a 37-year-old healthy patient, who sustained contiguous fractures of the thoracic and lumbar spine during the first manifestation of epilepsy with primary localized and then secondary generalized epileptic seizures. A complication-free outcome was achieved with a combination of conservative and operative therapies.
