    AbstractMetformin-associated lactate acidosis is a rare, but life-threatening complication of a widely prescribed medication. We describe here a case of metformin-associated lactate acidosis that rapidly deteriorated probably as a consequence of concomitant glucose infusion that was initiated to correct sulphonylurea-induced hypoglycemia.
