Randomized Controlled TrialCarbetocin versus oxytocin for prevention of postpartum hemorrhage after vaginal delivery in high risk women.
To compare effectiveness and tolerability of carbetocin versus oxytocin in prevention of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) after vaginal delivery. ⋯ Carbitocin is a better alternative to traditional oxytocin in prevention of PPH after vaginal delivery with minimal hemodynamic changes and similar side effects.

Clinical TrialRole of presepsin in the diagnosis of late-onset neonatal sepsis in preterm infants.
One of the most challenging aspects in the management of neonates with late-onset neonatal sepsis (LOS) is to make the diagnosis. Presepsin is a novel and promising marker of sepsis. The aim of this study was to assess the role of presepsin in the diagnosis of LOS in preterm infants. ⋯ Presepsin can be used as a reliable biomarker for LOS and treatment response in preterm infants. However, we could not demonstrate the efficacy of presepsin for the detection of disease severity or prognosis.

Early screening for critical congenital heart defects in asymptomatic newborns in Bursa province.
In this study, pulse oximetry screening results in the early diagnosis of critical congenital heart diseases (CCHD) will be evaluated. ⋯ The diagnosis of coarctation of the aorta is missed in the newborns screened with pulse oximetry in the first 24-48 h after birth. Screening with pulse oximetry should be repeated for early diagnosis of coarctation of the aorta.

Randomized Controlled TrialCombination of motherwort injection and oxytocin for the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage after cesarean section.
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of motherwort injection combined with oxytocin for preventing postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) after cesarean section (CS). ⋯ It is efficacious and safe that combination use of motherwort injection and oxytocin could reduce blood loss and prevent PPH after CS.

Oxygen administration at birth in preterm infants: a retrospective analysis.
The aim of the study was to retrospectively investigate the association between initial oxygen concentration in delivery room and short-term outcomes in preterm infants. ⋯ Initial oxygen concentration seems to be associated with increased MV in the NICU. Our observations further stress the need for randomized controlled studies in order to obtain definitive recommendations for the optimal initial oxygen concentration during neonatal resuscitation of preterm infants.
