Case Reports[Unintended events in anesthesia due to reuse of disposable equipment].
Two cases concerning reuse of plastic-coated introducers (intended for single-use only) for intubation of children are described. If breaks in the coating occur, the airway can be compromised and removal of the broken piece of the plastic-coating can the treacherous. In this paper, the probable causes of the incidents are discussed and suggestions for avoiding breakage are outlined.

Case Reports[Toxic epidermal necrolysis after treatment with lamotrigine].
A case of toxic epidermal necrolysis following treatment with lamotrigine is presented. A 20 year old male suffering from epilepsy was treated with lamotrigine in addition to valproic acid. After three weeks he developed cutaneous manifestations of Steven-Johnson's syndrome followed by toxic epidermal necrolysis, mucosal lesions and liver symptoms. He was treated with systemic corticosteroids, antibiotics and intravenous fluid, and recovered after a few weeks.

[Fractures following accidental falls among the elderly in the county of Aarhus].
The incidence rates of common fall-related fractures were investigated in a Danish population of elderly people (> 64 years). One thousand one hundred and eighty fractures in 1016 patients were observed. ⋯ Patients with a fall-related fracture had a four times higher risk of getting a new fracture. Increased mortality, adjusted for age and sex, ranged from 10 to 30 percent in the first year; except for fractures of the wrist, which were not associated with increased mortality.

Case Reports[Placenta accreta. Bleeding and disseminated intravascular coagulation following Cesarean section].
A case of placenta accreta in a 30-year old woman with one prior caesarean section is presented. The operative course of her second caesarean section was complicated by mild atonia. ⋯ An abdominal hysterectomy was performed. Risk factors, antenatal diagnostic methods, complications and different treatment aspects are discussed.

Case Reports[Endocarditis and normal cell meningitis caused by group B streptococci].
Bacterial meningitis usually presents with cerebrospinal pleocytosis with neutrophil predominance. Cases without pleocytosis are known from the literature. A case of group B streptococcal endocarditis with concomitant meningitis without cerebrospinal pleocytosis is described in a 40 year old woman. Finding the cerebrospinal fluid normocellular might mislead the physician and cause a delay in treatment.
