Meta AnalysisA systemic review and meta-analysis on the prevalence and associated factors of hypertension among adult clients in Ethiopia.
Hypertension is a major risk factor for premature mortality and excessive morbidity in the world. It is a growing public health problem in developing countries including Ethiopia. It is a silent killer. Information on the prevalence of hypertension and its associated factors is to be considered vital to focus on early diagnosis and improve prevention and control of cardiovascular diseases. However, on the prevalence and contributing factors of hypertension in Ethiopia, there is a dearth of information. Thus, this review aimed to estimate the pooled prevalence of hypertension and its contributing factors among Ethiopia's adult population. ⋯ The prevalence of hypertension among the adult population in Ethiopia is high. Healthcare professionals and other stakeholders should give attention to the early detection of hypertension in Ethiopia to reduce the burden of the disorder.

Meta AnalysisMight the fungus candida albicans a risk factor for autism? A meta-analysis study.
Due to the high increase in rate of autism, it has gained great importance to determine the etiology of autism spectrum disorder. The purpose of our study was to assess the role of Candida albicans as a risk factor to cause autism behavior. ⋯ This study as a whole showed that children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder have higher frequency of the presence of the fungus Candida albicans. Therefore, Candida albicans may be an etiological factor for the autistic behavior in children.

Meta AnalysisThe prevalence of sexual violence against African women: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
High rates of sexual violence ratios in low-income countries are recognized as a global public health problem. The incidence of violence against African women has been increasing. However, no study has systematically summarized the global prevalence of sexual violence against African woman. ⋯ Nearly one out of every three (33%) African woman around the world has been a victim of sexual violence in their life. This current study investigated the status and characteristics of sexual violence against women, which could provide an important reference for the African health care provider. Assessing this problem against African women helps government officials, policy makers, program designers and non-governmental organizations to design prevention and controlling strategies.

Meta AnalysisComparison of iron isomaltoside ferumoxytol with iron sucrose for iron deficiency anemia: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
The efficacy of iron isomaltoside ferumoxytol versus iron sucrose to treat iron deficiency anemia remains controversial. We conduct this meta-analysis to explore the influence of iron isomaltoside ferumoxytol versus iron sucrose on iron deficiency anemia. ⋯ Iron isomaltoside ferumoxytol showed comparable efficacy to iron sucrose for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia.

Meta AnalysisTherapeutic outcome of dapagliflozin in patients with type 2 diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
The efficacy of dapagliflozin remains controversial for patients with type 2 diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. We conduct this meta-analysis to explore the influence of dapagliflozin versus placebo on the treatment efficacy of type 2 diabetes complicated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. ⋯ Dapagliflozin benefits to improve hepatic function and glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, as evidenced by the reduction in ALT, AST, fasting glucose and HbA1c.
