Meta AnalysisAssociation of the IL-4R Q576R Polymorphism with Pediatric Asthma: a meta-analysis.
The relationship between Q576R polymorphism of IL-4 receptor (IL-4R) gene and pediatric asthma risk is still undefined. To this end, this meta-analysis was performed to explore the above controversy. ⋯ Our findings suggested that G allele of IL-4R Q576R polymorphism is associated with increased risk of pediatric asthma. Anyhow, delicately-designed, large-scale studies should be conducted to further confirm the current outcomes.

Meta AnalysisThe comparison of remimazolam and midazolam for the sedation of gastrointestinal endoscopy: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled studies.
Remimazolam and midazolam are used for the sedation of gastrointestinal endoscopy, but their efficacy remains controversial. We conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare the sedation of remimazolam with midazolam for gastrointestinal endoscopy. ⋯ Remimazolam demonstrated better efficacy and safety for the sedation of gastrointestinal endoscopy compared to midazolam.

Meta AnalysisAssociation between hair dye use and cancer in women: a systematic review and meta-analysis of case-control studies.
The use of hair dye for cosmetic purposes appears to be increasing worldwide. As 50-80% of women use hair dye throughout their lifetimes, the possible association between hair dye use and cancer is a public health concern. ⋯ The present study suggests that, although the use of hair dye may increase the risk of cancer among users, a more detailed evaluation is required to assess the type of hair dye use in terms of guidelines and metrics.

Meta AnalysisPreterm birth and its associated factors in Ethiopia: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Preterm birth is a public health concern globally. In low- and middle-income countries, like Ethiopia, preterm birth is under reported and underestimated. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis assessed the pooled prevalence and associated risk factors for preterm birth in Ethiopia. ⋯ The national prevalence of preterm birth in Ethiopia was low. Early identifying those pregnant women who are at risk of the above determinants and proving quality healthcare and counsel them how to prevent preterm births, which decrease the rate of preterm birth and its consequences. So, both governmental and non-governmental health sectors work on the minimization of these risk factors.
