An investigation of the umbilical artery N-terminal proBrain natriuretic peptide levels of fetuses due to fetal distress in term pregnancies.
This study aimed to investigate umbilical artery N-terminal proBrain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in fetuses delivered by cesarean section due to fetal distress in term pregnancies. ⋯ This study showed that NT-proBNP can be used as an important marker in the diagnosis of fetal distress. Prospective studies with more participants are now needed to confirm the accuracy of our results.

Evaluation of the efficacy of labor induction with vaginal misoprostol in a low-risk pregnant women population.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the success rate and predictors of labor induction using vaginal misoprostol in a low-risk pregnant women population. ⋯ A high rate of labor induction success using vaginal misoprostol in a low-risk population was observed, mainly in multiparous and with gestational age>41 weeks. No previous delivery decreased the success of labor induction, while one previous delivery increased the success of labor induction.

Observational StudyImpact of anthro-metabolic indices and gestational weight gain on maternal and neonatal outcomes: a prospective observational study.
The aim of this study was to examine the relationship of anthro-metabolic indices on maternal and neonatal outcomes. ⋯ The study demonstrated a significant association between gestational weight gain and cesarean delivery, prolonged hospital stay, and macrosomia. It was also found that maternal body mass index, waist circumferences, and hip circumferences during pregnancy were associated with macrosomia. On the contrary, no significant relationship was found between maternal anthro-metabolic characteristics and maternal-fetal and birth outcomes.

The first study appraising colonic diverticulosis and Helicobacter pylori diagnosed by histopathology.
Colonic diverticulosis might be caused by low-fiber dietary habits, gastrointestinal motility disorders, and colonic wall resistance changes, which might also affect the upper gastrointestinal system mucosa. Therefore, the present study aims to answer whether the gastric histopathological findings of the cases with diverge from those without. ⋯ Consequently, colonic diverticulosis should not be overlooked, particularly when the abovementioned laboratory parameters are augmented in a dyspeptic patient. A correlation might be raised between Helicobacter pylori and colonic diverticulosis. Eradication therapy might help attenuate the risk of colonic diverticulosis when Helicobacter pylori has emerged in a patient.
