Custom target-sequencing in triple-negative and luminal breast cancer from young Brazilian patients.
To identify somatic mutations in tumors from young women with triple-negative or luminal breast cancer, through targeted sequencing and to explore the cancer driver potential of these gene variants. ⋯ The data further indicates that some cancer drivers are more common in a specific breast cancer subtype from young patients, such as TP53 in TNBC and PIK3CA and GATA3 in luminal samples. These results also provide additional evidence that some genes not considered classical cancer-causing genes, such as CACNA1E, GRHL2 and SMURF2 might be cancer drivers in this age group.

The Fluconazole pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic relationship was investigated in a few clinical settings and only limited studies regarding burned patients are available. Thus, the authors aimed to investigate fluconazole pharmacokinetics changes and its impact on antifungal therapy coverage against dose-dependent Candida spp. applying the PK/PD approach in critically ill severely burned patients. ⋯ Fluconazole pharmacokinetics is altered in critically ill severely burned patients, mainly related to the volume of distribution. Doses higher than usual may be necessary to reach the PK/PD target and guarantee antifungal coverage against dose-dependent Candida spp. up to MIC 32 mg/L.

Exercise rehabilitation is the core of Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR) and will improve the prognosis of patients receiving Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI surgery). The current study retrospectively analyzed the effects of different exercise-based CR strategies on the prognosis of AMI patients receiving PCI treatment. ⋯ The current study showed that exercise-based CRs had better improving effects than the normal nursing strategy on the prognosis of AMI patients receiving PCI surgery.

Currently, the incidence of esophageal cancer continues to rise around the world. Because of its good early prognosis, it is of great significance to establish an effective model for predicting the survival of EC patients. ⋯ Calibration of the nomogram predicted probabilities of 1-year, 3-year and 5-year survival probability, which were closely related to actual survival. In conclusion, this study validated that the column-line graphical model can be considered an individualized quantitative tool for predicting the prognosis of patients with EC in order to assist clinicians in making therapeutic decisions.

Protocol for the collection, packaging, and transportation of preterm newborn stool samples.
The newborn's intestinal microbiota can vary with gestational age. Reliable analyses of stool samples require establishing the steps of collection, packaging, transportation, and storage. ⋯ Following the protocol steps with the description of the rules of conduct and recommendations regarding the collection, packaging, transportation, and storage of stool samples from PTNBs ensured the preservation and integrity of the bacterial DNA in the stools sample. The details of the recommendations will allow their reproducibility and improvement by professionals and researchers with similar study objects.
