Can neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio, platelet-lymphocyte ratio, prognostic nutrition index, and albumin be used to predict cholecystectomy morbidity in super-elderly patients?
This study aimed to evaluate the usability of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet lymphocyte ratio (PLR), prognostic nutritional index (PNI), and serum albumin level in predicting cholecystectomy morbidity in elderly patients (85 years and older) who underwent cholecystectomy for acute cholecystitis. ⋯ This study found that PNI and albumin can be used as predictive factors with high sensitivity and specificity for predicting cholecystectomy morbidity for acute cholecystitis in super-elderly patients. However, NLR and PLR had no significance in predicting cholecystectomy morbidity.

A revolutionary acute subdural hematoma detection based on two-tiered artificial intelligence model.
The article was planned to make the first evaluation in terms of acute subdural hemorrhages, thinking that it can help in appropriate pathologies by tomography interpretation with the artificial intelligence (AI) method, at least in a way to quickly warn the responsible doctor. ⋯ With the proposed model, both the detection of hemorrhage and the presentation of the suspicious area to the physician were performed more successfully on two dimensional (2D) images with low cost and high accuracy compared to similar studies and today's interpretations with telemedicine techniques.

Case ReportsRepair experience of external iliac artery dissection using internal iliac artery transposition during renal transplantation.
Graft and surgery-related complications still pose a problem in kidney transplant surgery. Vascular complications due to surgery can be severe, threatening both graft and recipient life. ⋯ However, studies that provide long-term results on which approach will be applied in which period and in which conditions are limited. In this case report, we share our 6-year patient follow-up experience and repair of external iliac artery dissection related to renal transplantation with internal iliac artery transposition.

Composite graft repair in distal finger injuries: emergency room or operating room?
Fingertip amputations are common injuries presenting to the emergency room. However, all amputations do not have a chance of replantation, and composite graft is among the salvage treatments in this case. This treatment is both easy to apply and economical. Our study compares the success and cost of composite grafting in the emergency and operating rooms. ⋯ Composite grafting is a simple and reliable method in fingertip injuries and gives satisfactory results in terms of patient satisfaction. In addition, composite graft application in fingertip injuries in the emergency department will both reduce the cost and prevent hospital infections that may occur due to the reduction in hospitalization.

Review Case ReportsComplicated appendicitis with scrotal fistula: case report and review of the literature.
Appendicitis is the most common emergency abdominal surgery today. Although its common complications are well-known, retroperi-toneal abscess and scrotal abscess are rare and less known complications. In this study, we presented our patient who presented with appendicitis complicated with retroperitoneal abscess and scrotal fistula after appendectomy, and the literature review we conducted through PubMed. ⋯ The patient, whose abscess regressed, was discharged with recovery 17 days after hospitalization. These rare complications associated with appendicitis should be on the minds of surgeons to make an early diagnosis. Delay in treatment may lead to increased morbidity and mortality.
