The aim of this study was to evaluate the adverse effects and immune response associated with IgG anti S1 SAEA-CoV-2 antibodies among healthcare workers at Señor del Milagro Hospital in Salta city, after receiving two doses of COVID-19 vaccine. ⋯ The AEFIs reported were mostly mild and transient. Mass vaccination and administration of the recommended dose are essential to achieve effective herd immunity. The majority of vaccinated healthcare workers developed antibodies and those who had the disease prior to vaccination had significant antibody titers.

Clinical trials that involve medicines are performed in order to determine their effectiveness and safety. In Argentina, these studies are presented either to National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) to obtain drug registration, or to the National Ministry of Health (MSAL) (to obtain the official recognition). This work was carried out to increase the knowledge about the clinical trials performed in Argentina. ⋯ Foreign pharmaceutical companies are the only ones that carry out clinical trials on medicines in Argentina, all of them for registration purposes. The use of placebo as a comparator is inappropriate, since each drug is expected to be validated against another of recognized efficacy already available in the market. Oncological/immunological pathologies are the ones that arouse greater interest among local researchers due to their prevalence and their greater profitability in the pharmaceutical market.

Invasive liver abscess syndrome caused by hypervirulent Klebsiella. pneumoniae is a rare disease. This type of K. pneumoniae is aggressive and invasive, despite its sensitivity profile. We report the case of a 62-year-old man with diabetes mellitus, who was admitted to our hospital with meningeal syndrome. ⋯ The patient evolved favorably. Infections caused by hypermucoviscous K. pneumoniae are aggressive and invasive, and more common in men with a history of diabetes mellitus, as in this case. These infections require early antibiotic treatment and the search of metastatic infections.

Enteral nutrition through jejunostomy is a common practice in any general surgery service; it carries a low risk of complications and morbidity and mortality. We present the case of a patient with an immediate history of subtotal gastrectomy that began nutrition through jejunostomy and complicated with intestinal necrosis due to non-occlusive ischemia in the short period. The purpose of this work is to report on this complication, its pathophysiology and risk factors to take it into account and be able to take appropriate therapeutic action early.

The clinical case of a 53-year-old woman diagnosed with a right Bochdalek hernia complicated by intestinal obstruction is presented. This type of diaphragmatic hernia is rare, especially those located on the right side, but is the most common non-hiatal hernia. ⋯ A primary closure was carried out associated with the placement of polypropylene mesh. Her evolution was favorable, with no complications associated with the procedure.
