Meta AnalysisIntramedullary Nailing Versus Minimally Invasive Plate Osteosynthesis for Distal Tibial Fractures: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
To evaluate the application, safety and efficacy of the patients treated with intramedullary nailing (IMN) and minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) in distal tibia fractures. Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines, we searched databases PubMed, Cochrane library, EMBASE and Web of Science from inception of the database up to 10 October 2018, using the keywords "distal tibia fractures", "plate", "intramedullary nailing" and "RCT" to identify randomized clinical trials about distal tibia fractures. The included studies were assessed by two researchers according to the Cochrane risk-of-bias criteria. ⋯ MIPO was superior in preventing malunion compared with IMN, and intramedullary nailing appeared to have lower wound complications. However, in patients with 43A distal tibial fractures, MIPO was more recommended for its prevention of malunion. No matter which method we choose, we should notice and prevent the associated complications.

Surgical Treatment of Lateral Tibial Plateau Fractures Involving the Posterolateral Column.
To summarize the indications and the clinical effects of a transfibular neck osteotomy approach and a combined anterolateral and posterolateral approach in the treatment of fractures of the lateral tibial plateau involving the posterolateral column. ⋯ The anterolateral combined posterolateral approach and the transfibular neck osteotomy approach are effective in the surgical treatment of lateral tibial plateau fractures involving the posterolateral column. However, the transfibular neck osteotomy approach is more suitable for the posterolateral plateau articular surface damaged with bone separation and displacement, deep collapse, cases involving a large range of the posterolateral column, especially fractures of the lateral tibial plateau in the upper tibiofibular syndesmosis area of the line connecting the anterior and posterior margin of the fibular head to the midpoint of the plateau.

One-stage Debridement via Oblique Lateral Interbody Fusion Corridor Combined with Posterior Pedicle Screw Fixation in Treating Spontaneous Lumbar Infectious Spondylodiscitis: A Case Series.
Surgery is indicated when antibiotic treatment fails in pyogenic spondylodiscitis, which is caused by pathogens such as the Staphylococcus species. The aim of the present study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of the oblique lateral interbody fusion (OLIF) corridor approach combined with posterior pedicle screw fixation for treating pyogenic spondylodiscitis. ⋯ One-stage debridement with autogenous iliac bone graft through the OLIF corridor combined with posterior pedicle screw fixation is effective and safe for single-level spontaneous lumbar pyogenic spondylodiscitis after antibiotic treatment fails.
