With aging, pressure ulcers become a common health problem causing significant morbidity and mortality for physically limited or bedridden elderly persons. Here, we present our strategy for such patients. Between August 2010 and March 2019, 117 patients were enrolled. ⋯ Primary closure may be considered as the simplest method if the defective area is <16 cm. Intraoperative indocyanine green angiography can help avoid secondary flap revisions. Our protocol ensures a short surgery time, little bleeding, and a low complication rate.

Meta Analysis
Ju Re Ba Du therapy for Postherpetic neuralgia: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis.
Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is one of the most common types of chronic neuropathic pain, which seriously affects quality of the life because of pain severity and poor response to the currently available treatments. Ju Re Ba Du therapy as a form of acupuncture therapy which is proved to be effective in RCTs and very suitable for patients, has been used in Postherpetic neuralgia in patients for a long time, therefore a systematic review is necessary to provide available evidence for further study. ⋯ September 29, 2020 osf.io/r6y9b. Interleukin-10(IL-10) is an immunosuppressive cytokine and plays an important role in inflammation and cancers. Numerous studies have explored the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms of IL-10 and leukemia, but their results were conflicting, so we performed this meta-analysis to elucidate the association between 3 common single nucleotide polymorphisms of IL-10 (rs1800896, rs1800871 and rs1800872) and risk of leukemia. We conducted a comprehensive research in Pubmed, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database disc and Embase using related terms. ⋯ A strong relationship was also uncovered between polymorphism of IL-10 -592C/A and increased risk of leukemia in non-Chinese. GG genotype of IL-10 -1082A/G is associated with decreased risk of leukemia, especially chronic lymphocytic leukemia. CC genotype of -592C/A is associated with decreased risk of leukemia in non-Chinese.

Review Case Reports
Intravenous analgesia with ultra-high-dose morphine for the treatment of headache and successful withdrawal of morphine: A case report and literature review.
Pain is the fifth vital sign of human beings. Morphine is the first choice for relieving moderate to severe cancer pain. Most of the previous studies merely focused on the analgesic effect of high-dose or ultra-high-dose morphine in patients with advanced cancers but did not report any cases related to successful morphine withdrawal. ⋯ For patients with advanced cancers, the application of ultra-high-dose morphine may significantly relieve cancerous pain, improve survival and quality of life, and overcome their fear for death and desperation, which contributes to the establishment of a basis for subsequent anticancer treatments. Thus, timely effective pain management and routine anticancer treatments are the key to addressing the cancer pain problem.

Pyogenic osteomyelitis of the spine usually occurs in patients over 55 years old with acute osteomyelitis. Surgical treatment and fixation can relieve pain, enhance spinal balance and nerve function, so that patients can walk as soon as possible. Different outcomes of surgical methods include anterior minimally invasive oblique retroperitoneal approach (ORA) and posterior transpedicular approach (PTA). While, there is no consensus on the best treatment for PVO. The goal of the protocol is to compare the clinical consequences between PTA and ORA for treating PVO. ⋯ This protocol may offer a reliable basis for the effectiveness of the two approaches in the treatment of PVO.
