Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a refractory intestinal disease prone to recurrent attacks, with a high rate of canceration, which seriously affects life treatment. Routine treatment has disadvantages such as long course of treatment, high cost, easy recurrence and limited effectiveness. Clinical practice shows that acupoint catgut embedding therapy has certain therapeutic advantages but lacks evidence of evidence-based medicine. The purpose of this study is to systematically study the effectiveness and safety of acupoint catgut embedding for ulcerative colitis. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/ OSF.IO / 7T4QV.

We examined the therapeutic effects of argon-helium cryoablation guided by computed tomography (CT) in the treatment of sacral chordoma. This is a retrospective study. CT-guided argon-helium cryoablation was used to treat 9 sacral chordoma patients at our centers between January 2016 and June 2019. ⋯ These patients had revised treatment with trans-arterial embolism (n = 1) or repeat ablation (n = 1). The median progression-free survival was 36.8 months. Treatment of sacral chordoma with CT-guided argon-helium cryoablation is effective and offers a potentially beneficial therapeutic alternative for patients with the condition.

Direct anterior approach or posterior approach in total hip arthroplasty: A direct comparative study protocol.
Two familiar surgical methods, posterior approach (PA) and direct anterior approach (DAA), have been extensively utilized in the treatment of total hip arthroplasty (THA) with similar long-term rates of success. The sufficient sample size and a good clinical trial are urgently needed. Considering the above factors, we implemented a retrospective research to compare the prognosis of patients with primary THA receiving the techniques of PA or DAA. ⋯ We assumed that the 2 treatment methods possess similar results.

Effects of positive dispatcher encouragement on the maintenance of bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation quality.
Implementation of dispatcher-assisted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (DACPR) has increased the likelihood of bystander CPR upon cardiac arrest. However, the quality of CPR has been found to be very low. In this study, we aimed to compare CPR quality between the current DACPR practices and the interventional instruction of adding verbal encouragement from the dispatcher. ⋯ To maintain the quality of CPR administered by bystanders, continuous feedback and repeated human encouragement should be provided during DACPR. Active dispatcher intervention reduces the time required to reach an appropriate CPR rate and allows for the maintenance of accurate compression rates.

Postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP) is the focus and difficult problem in the world at present, and we found that Chinese patent medicine(CPM) shown a more miraculous effect. Many kinds of Chinese patent medicine have been proved to be effective in the treatment of this disease, but it is still unclear which kind of Chinese patent medicine has the best effect. Therefore, we propose a network meta-analysis (NMA) protocol to observe the efficacy of various CPM for this disease and provide guidance for clinical practice. ⋯ Through this analysis, we will observe and rank the clinical effects of different CPM for PMOP. The main evaluation indexes include: New fracture, Quality of life, Severe side effects, Death from all causes. Secondary outcome indicators include Bone Mineral density, clinical efficiency, and some laboratory indicators, such as estradiol, serum calcium, serum, etc. CONCLUSION:: This study will rank the therapeutic effects of various proprietary Chinese medicines in the treatment of PMOP, which will be helpful in improving the PMOP treatment regimen.INPLASY registration number: INPLASY202090047.
