Effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for treatment of tinnitus: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis.
Tinnitus is a common disease in otolaryngology. In China, acupuncture has been used as a promising treatment for tinnitus. Yet, the specific effect and safety of acupuncture are still disputable. The ultimate goal of this paper is to formulate a protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis, which can be employed in assessing the benefits and safety of acupuncture on tinnitus. ⋯ This protocol is suitable for evaluating the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture in curing tinnitus, and is helpful for subsequent evaluation.Open Science Framework Registration DOI: 10.17605/OSF.IO/85FCS.

The role of emergency laparoscopic surgery for complicated diverticular disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Laparoscopic surgery develops rapidly in both elective and emergency settings. The study aimed to determine the role of different laparoscopic methods for the emergency treatment of complicated diverticulitis. ⋯ The safety of laparoscopic surgery for the emergency treatment of complicated diverticulitis is related to different surgical methods. LCR is suggested to be a better choice according to the postoperative outcomes. More definite conclusions can be drawn in future randomized controlled trials.

In this analysis, we aimed to systematically compare the procedural and post-operative complications (POC) associated with laparoscopic versus open abdominal surgery for right-sided colonic cancer resection. ⋯ In conclusion, laparoscopic surgery was almost comparable to OS in terms of post-operative outcomes for right-sided colonic cancer resection and was not associated with higher unwanted outcomes. Therefore, laparoscopic intervention should be considered as safe as the open abdominal surgery for right-sided colonic cancer resection, with a decreased hospital stay.

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the accuracy, effectiveness, and safety of screw view model of navigation (SVMN) guided minimal invasive percutaneous pelvic screws (PPSs) insertion for lateral compression pelvic ring injuries (PRI). ⋯ SVMN technique guided PPSs insertion is an effective and safety approach for the treatment of PRI in selected patients. Besides, it is necessary for surgeons to master the rationale of computer navigation, to familiar with the anatomy of pelvis and to select suitable patients.
