IgA Nephropathy (IgAN) is characterized by mesangial deposition of dominant, polymeric, galactose-deficient IgA1 molecules of gut-associated lymphoid tissue origin. We sought to evaluate the efficacy of targeting the mucosal immune system dysregulation underlying IgAN pathogenesis with a pH-modified formulation of budesonide with a maximum release of active compound in the distal ileum and proximal colon. We did a retrospective study evaluating the efficacy of budesonide (Budenofalk) in the treatment of IgAN. ⋯ The median reduction in hematuria at 24-month was 72% (IQR: -90%; -45%) in the budesonide group and 73% (IQR: -85%; 18%) in the corticosteroid group, respectively (P = .22, for between group difference). Treatment with budesonide was well tolerated with minimal side effects. Budesonide (Budenofalk) was effective in the treatment of patients with IgAN at high-risk of progression in terms of reducing proteinuria, hematuria and preserving renal function over 24 months of therapy.

Review Case Reports
Pediatric radiation enteritis with intestinal failure: A case report and literature review.
Chronic radiation enteritis, a disease secondary to radiation exposure, has been widely reported in adults. However, few studies have described chronic radiation enteritis in children. Early diagnosis is essential, and nutrition management plays an important role in pediatric chronic radiation enteritis management. ⋯ Pediatric radiation enteritis is rare. Our study highlights the characteristics of pediatric chronic radiation enteritis. Nutrition therapy is an important part of the whole therapy strategy in pediatric chronic radiation enteritis.

Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Comparison of HAS-BLED with other risk models for predicting the bleeding risk in anticoagulated patients with atrial fibrillation: A PRISMA-compliant article.
The HAS-BLED, HEMORR2HAGES, ATRIA, and ORBIT scores are used to predict bleeding risk in anticoagulated patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). Recently, these scores have been validated in various studies. Therefore, we aimed to compare the occurrence of major bleeding across different risk categories between HAS-BLED and any of HEMORR2HAGES, ATRIA, or ORBIT scores. ⋯ Compared with any of HEMORR2HAGES, ATRIA, or ORBIT scores, the HAS-BLED score distributed more major bleeding events into the "low" or "moderate" risk categories.

Trigeminal neuralgia is an oral facial pain that is limited to one or more parts of the trigeminal nerve. As it becomes chronic, it can seriously affect the quality of life of most patients, and it is expected to increase in incidence in modern aging society. The objective of this systematic review protocol is to provide methods for evaluating the effectiveness and safety of herbal medicines for idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia (ITN). ⋯ The results of this systematic review will be published in a peer-reviewed journal and disseminated electronically and in print. To inform and guide healthcare practices, the review will be updated.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
Unilateral versus bilateral balloon kyphoplasty in treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures: A randomized controlled trial protocol.
It is currently controversial whether unilateral or bilateral balloon kyphoplasty (BKP) is superior in terms of postoperative outcomes in treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF). In this context, the aim of this study was to prospectively evaluate and compare the radiographic and clinical outcomes of BKP using unilateral and bilateral approaches. ⋯ We were able to directly compare the outcomes of unilateral versus bilateral BKP and might reveal a better technique in OVCF.
