Meta Analysis
Efficacy and safety of Chinese medicine for obstructive sleep apnea: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis.
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is significant public concern. Clinical practice indicates that Chinese medicine has certain therapeutic advantages, while there is a lack of evidence-based medicine support. The aim of this study is to synthesize related data to explore efficacy and safety of Chinese medicine for OSA. ⋯ CRD42020154864.

Meta Analysis
Early versus late tracheotomy in ICU patients: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
This study aimed to quantitatively analyze the available randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and investigate whether early tracheotomy can improve clinical endpoints compared with late tracheotomy in critically ill patients undergoing mechanical ventilation. ⋯ The present meta-analysis suggests that early tracheotomy can reduce the length of ICU stay and mechanical ventilation duration, but the timing of the tracheotomy was not associated with the short-term clinical endpoints in critically ill patients undergoing mechanical ventilation.

This study aimed to compare the effectiveness and safety of reduced-port laparoscopic surgery (RPLS) and conventional multi-port laparoscopic (CMPLS) surgery in the treatment of gastric diseases. The PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and Chinese Biomedical Literature databases were systematically searched for randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, and case control studies on the use of RPLS vs conventional multi-port laparoscopic surgery in treating gastric diseases from their inception until March 10, 2019. The evaluated outcomes were the operative time, blood loss, length of hospital stay, number of dissected lymph nodes, postoperative complications, and conversions. ⋯ RPLS and CMPLS showed comparable effectiveness and safety in the treatment of gastric diseases in our meta-analysis. Based on the current evidence, we believe that RPLS is an efficacious surgical alternative to CMPLS in the management of gastric diseases because of the shorter hospital stay and reduced blood loss. However, large-scale, well-designed, multicenter studies are needed to further confirm the results of this study.

Computer-aided detection (CAD) system for accurate and automated prostate cancer (PCa) diagnosis have been developed, however, the diagnostic test accuracy of different CAD systems is still controversial. This systematic review aimed to assess the diagnostic accuracy of CAD systems based on magnetic resonance imaging for PCa. ⋯ CAD system can help improve the diagnostic accuracy of PCa especially using the support vector machines classifier. Whether the performance of the CAD system depends on the specific locations of the prostate needs further investigation.

The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to investigate the associations of community-level socioeconomic status (SES) on outcomes of patients with out-of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). ⋯ In this meta-analysis, community-level SES was significantly associated with bystander CPR and survival among patients with OHCA.
