Lipi Guben decoction in treating diarrheal irritable bowel syndrome: A study protocol for a randomized controlled trial.
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common functional bowel disorder. The global incidence of IBS is as high as 9% to 23%, accounting for about 50% of outpatients in gastroenterology, and the new case detection rate is 0.2% every year. IBS has become a global gastrointestinal functional disease. Although IBS is not a life-threatening disease, it seriously affects the quality of life of patients, causing huge economic and mental burden to individuals, society and families. Lipi Guben decoction (LPGBD) is an important auxiliary treatment for IBS, but lack of robust Evidence-based medicine evidence proving its efficacy. Therefore, we designed a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of LPGBD in the treatment of IBS. ⋯ LPGBD may improve the clinical efficacy of patients with IBS, which has important value in practical application.

The morbidity and mortality of acute myocardial infarction are on the rise, and the efficacy of conventional treatment is limited. Shexiang Baoxin Pill is a kind of proprietary Chinese medicine, which has been widely used in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction in China, and has certain advantages. At present, there is a lack of strict randomized controlled trials to verify the efficacy and safety of Shexiang Baoxin Pill combined with Western medicine in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction. Therefore, the purpose of this randomized controlled trial is to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Shexiang Baoxin Pill combined with Western medicine in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction. ⋯ This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of Shexiang Baoxin Pill combined with Western medicine in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction. The results of this experiment will provide clinical basis for Shexiang Baoxin Pill combined with Western medicine in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction.

Vitamin A supplementation prevents the bronchopulmonary dysplasia in premature infants: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
It is necessary to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of vitamin A supplementation on the bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in premature infants. ⋯ Vitamin A supplementation is beneficial to the prophylaxis of BPD in premature infants, further studies on the administration approaches and dosages of vitamin A in premature infants are warranted.

Previous studies have reported that lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) had novel prognostic value in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The purpose of this meta-analysis was to synthetically evaluate the prognostic role of preoperative LMR in HCC patients following curative resection. ⋯ Elevated preoperative LMR indicated superior survival outcome in HCC patients following curative resection, and might serve as a novel prognostic biomarker.

Comparative effectiveness of herb-partitioned moxibustion plus lifestyle modification treatment for patients with simple obesity: A study protocol for a randomized controlled trial.
Obesity is a global public health issue, which results in many health complications. Moxibustion may serve as an alternative management for simple obesity, where pharmacological therapy is always difficult to be accepted by the majority of obese patients based on its safety. However, the effects of herb-partitioned moxibustion as obesity intervention have not been confirmed. This study is designed as a single-blinded, 3-dummy randomized controlled trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of herb-partitioned moxibustion plus lifestyle modification treatment in patients with simple obesity. ⋯ Ethical approval of this study was granted by the Ethics Committee of Hubei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine on 15 November 2018 (Ethics Reference No: HBZY2018-C24-01). Written informed consents will be provided by all participants before they were enrolled in this study.
