Music therapy and music-based interventions have been used widely in numerous medical procedures to reduce the physical and psychological disorders. However, the effect of music therapy on pain relief in hemodialysis patients still remains unclear. ⋯ Music-based interventions could significantly relieve pain for patients undergoing hemodialysis, which should be promoted as an effective and safe complementary method.

Stroke is the leading cause of disability-adjusted life years in neurological diseases and has become one of the top 3 fatal diseases in the world. Cerebral hemorrhage accounts for approximately 18% to 24% of all strokes in Asian countries. Cerebral hemorrhage is one of the most destructive subtypes of stroke and has high morbidity and mortality. Based on the current research, it has been confirmed that neither surgical treatment nor current drug treatment is the most preferred treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is increasingly being used to treat cerebral hemorrhage, and the activating blood and removing stasis (ABRS) method has received more attention. At present, there is still a lack of high-quality clinical research on the treatment of acute cerebral hemorrhage. ⋯ The study is expected to confirm the safety and effect of acute cerebral hemorrhage within 24 to 72 hours treated with the ABRS method and to determine the optimal time for intervention in this period.

Sepsis leads to the high mortality in critically ill infants and children. It is still controversial whether vitamin D deficiency was associated with the incidence of sepsis. Thus we designed the systematic review and meta-analysis. ⋯ We demonstrated that critically ill infants and children with sepsis could have a lower 25-OHD level and severe vitamin D deficiency comparing to those without sepsis. Future studies should focus on the association of vitamin D supplement and the occurrence of sepsis in critically ill children.

Heart failure (HF) has become a serious global public health issue due to its high incidence, high mortality and extremely low quality of life. According to several clinical trials, Qishen Yiqi Dripping pills (QSYQ) combined with routine western medicine treatment can further enhance the curative effect of HF patients. However, most of the trials are small in sample size and poor in quality, which can only provide limited evidence-based medicine. The existing systematic reviews of efficacy and safety has provided evidence for the clinical application of QSYQ to a certain extent, but there are still 3 major defects. Here, we will perform a systematic review and meta-analysis that include the randomized clinical trial (RCT) of CACT-IHF, apply meta-regression and subgroup analysis to cope with multiple confounding factors, and add the clinical efficacy standards of TCM, all-cause death and readmission rates as reliable efficacy evaluation indicators. The purpose of this study was to rigorously evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of QSYQ in the complementary treatment of HF with a well-designed systematic review and meta-analysis. ⋯ Since this study is on the basis of published or registered RCTs, ethical approval and informed consent of patients are not required.

Since the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in 2019, it has swept the world with rapid development and is one of the infectious diseases that seriously threatened global public health. Because of the complex pathogenesis, high infectivity, and high fatality rate of COVID-19, there are no effective treatments for this epidemic at present. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a long clinical history in the prevention and treatment of such acute infectious diseases. The therapeutic effect of Lianhua Qingwen (LHQW) on this new coronary pneumonia has attracted the attention of all walks of life, and relevant research reports continue to appear. Here, we intend to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCT) to evaluate the efficacy of LHQW in COVID-19 patients. ⋯ INPLASY2020120043.
