Contrast-induced encephalopathy (CIE) is a rare complication caused by administration of intravascular contrast media and characterized by acute reversible neurological disturbance. Most of the CIE cases are reported after arterial administration of contrast media such as during cerebral or coronary angiographies, yet only a few articles have reported CIE secondary to intravenous contrast. A case of CIE secondary to intravenous contrast administration is reported here. ⋯ CIE should be considered as 1 of the differential diagnoses for a patient with acute neurologic symptoms after iodinate contrast administration. Neuroradiological imaging examinations are essential to rule out other etiologies such as acute cerebral infarction or intracranial hemorrhage.

Cardiac primary spindle cell sarcoma is 1 of the rarest cardiac malignancies, with only a few cases reported so far. Herein, we reported a case of left atrial spindle cell sarcoma diagnosed and treated by a multidisciplinary approach, and retrospectively reviewed other reported cases. ⋯ Due to the rarity of these tumors and nonspecific symptoms, they are often difficult to diagnose preoperatively and missed occasionally. Thus, improving our understanding of the disease and facilitating its early diagnosis are essential.

Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease (PTLD) is a series of proliferative diseases of the lymphatic system. Among patients receiving hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), PTLD is a prevalent complication that severely affects rates of survival. Ultrasound plays an essential role in the early diagnosis of PTLD. Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) and CEUS-guided biopsy are critical procedures for tumor diagnosis. ⋯ Ultrasound can be used to effectively detect lesions of PTLD early after HSCT. Furthermore, CEUS and CEUS-guided biopsy were effective for early confirmatory diagnoses of PTLD after HSCT.

The drastic differences in treatment and prognosis of infantile hepatic hemangioma (IHH) and hepatoblastoma (HBL) make accurate prenatal diagnosis imperative. The retrospective comparisons of ultrasonic features between fetal IHH and HBL have been reported before, but clinically, the differential diagnosis in utero is very difficult and can lead to prenatal misdiagnosis. ⋯ The prognosis of fetal IHH and HBL is very different, so an accurate diagnosis prenatally is crucial and indispensable. The radiologist and clinician should differentiate between IHH and HBL, especially since the fetus can have serious complications.

We present the case of a patient with autoimmune hepatitis who suffered fatal intracardiac and pulmonary arterial thromboembolic complications after ABO-incompatible living donor liver transplantation (ABOi LDLT) with splenectomy. ⋯ In patients with autoimmune hepatitis, risk factors for thromboembolism should be rigorously controlled during the peak period of reactive thrombocytosis after ABOi LDLT with splenectomy.
