As a gynecological disease, endometriosis (EM) seriously endangers the health of women at the age of childbearing and is closely related to long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs). Current studies have discovered that there are differential expressions of many kinds of lncRNAs in EM. However, whether lncRNAs can be applied as a new marker for the prediction of the recurrence of EM is still controversial. In this study, meta-analysis and bioinformatics analysis were carried out to explore the value of lncRNAs as a predictor of the recurrence of EM and to analyze its biological role. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/MF3QJ.

Gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel (GnP) is widely used in clinical practice, despite a lack of prospective data to validate its efficacy in locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC). We conducted a phase II study of GnP for LAPC to assess its efficacy and safety. We performed a single-arm, single-institution study with GnP in 24 patients with LAPC. ⋯ Grade 3 to 4 AEs included hematological (neutropenia, 64%; thrombocytopenia, 12%), nonhematological (cholangitis, 16%), and sensory neuropathy (4%). These AEs were manageable and tolerable. The GnP treatment in patients with LAPC showed favorable tumor shrinkage, good toxicity profile, and enabled conversion to surgical resection in a subset of patients; therefore, GnP is an option for first-line chemotherapy in patients with LAPC.

Comparative Study Observational Study
Comparison of invasive fungal diseases between patients with acute myeloid leukemia receiving posaconazole prophylaxis and those not receiving prophylaxis: A single-center, observational, case-control study in South Korea.
Posaconazole prophylaxis is effective in decreasing the incidence of invasive fungal diseases (IFDs) in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). However, the use of antifungal prophylaxis varies in real-life practice, and only a small number of studies have compared the incidence of IFDs between those receiving posaconazole prophylaxis and those without prophylaxis. We compared the clinical characteristics and outcomes of IFDs between patients with AML who received posaconazole prophylaxis and those without antifungal prophylaxis. ⋯ The rate of IFD-related mortality was similar between the 2 groups (0.6% vs 0%, P > .99). Patients with AML who received posaconazole prophylaxis had a lower incidence of breakthrough IFDs compared with those who did not receive any prophylaxis. Invasive mold infection was the most common IFD regardless of antifungal prophylaxis.

Meta Analysis
The analgesic evaluation of gabapentin for arthroscopy: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
The efficacy of gabapentin for pain management of arthroscopy remains controversial. We conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to explore the influence of gabapentin versus placebo on the postoperative pain intensity of arthroscopy. ⋯ Gabapentin is effective for pain control after arthroscopy.

Meta Analysis Comparative Study
A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials of a traditional Chinese medicine prescription, modified RunChang-Tang, in treating functional constipation.
Modified Runchang-Tang (MRCT), a Chinese herbal medicine, is widely used to treat functional constipation (FC), which is a common digestive system disease. However, its efficacy has not been evaluated systematically and objectively. Thus, a meta-analysis was conducted to assess the efficacy and safety of MRCT for treating functional constipation. ⋯ MRCT treatment is an efficient and safe treatment for FC. However, considering the limitations of this study, further well-designed randomized controlled trials are required to validate this conclusion.
