Salvianolate, a common drug for stabilizing heart disease and Angina Pectoris, is considered to be off-label for preventing venous thromboembolism (VTE) or anticoagulation at present. However, many clinical studies have showed that salvianolate can effectively inhibit the deep-vein thrombosis (DVT) incidence, and prevent VTE of perioperative patients in the real world in China. ⋯ Salvianolate combined LMWH has better effectiveness and the same safety in preventing venous thromboembolism in perioperative patients. However, due to the small number of included literatures, large sample studies are still needed to further verify this conclusion.

Meta Analysis
Musculoskeletal ultrasound for ankylosing spondylitis: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To clarify if musculoskeletal ultrasound (US) would give additional information for the clinical examination to diagnose and evaluate the activity of ankylosing spondylitis (AS). ⋯ US, especially CDUS, is a valid and reproducible technique for the diagnosis of AS. While the accuracy of AS activity evaluation of the US is not ideal. It may be considered for routine use as part of the standard diagnostic tools in AS.

Blunt chest trauma (BCT) accounts for up to 65% of polytrauma patients. In patients with 0 to 2 rib fractures, treatment interventions are typically limited to oral analgesics and breathing exercises. Patients suffering from BCT experience symptoms of severe pain, poor sleep, and inability to perform simple daily life activities for an extended period of time thereafter. In this trial, we aim to investigate the efficacy of acupuncture as a functional and reliable treatment option for blunt chest trauma patients. ⋯ (CMUH109-REC1-002), (NCT04318496).

Review Case Reports
Hypopharyngeal spindle cell lipoma: A case report and review of literature.
Spindle cell lipoma is a rare, uncommon type of benign lipomatous tumor, a distinct group of lipomas composed of mature adipocytes, uniform spindle cells, and multinucleated giant cells associated with ropey collagen. Immunohistochemically, spindle cell lipoma is characterized by the diffuse expression of CD34. ⋯ Spindle cell lipoma is difficult to diagnose early because of slow growth and subtle symptomatology. This entity should be differentiated from several benign or malignant subtypes of lipomas, including liposarcomas. In this case, the spindle cell lipoma is large and originates from the hypopharynx, which is a rare entity and presents with atypical symptoms. This case gave rise to further studies on the clinical and pathologic characteristics of this tumor in the future.

In this study, multiple-site, cross-sectional area (CSA) reference values were established for major peripheral nerves, including small branches, in the upper extremity of a healthy Asian population. This study included 107 prospectively recruited age-matched, healthy subjects with a mean age of 46 years (range, 24-75 years). All subjects underwent standardized nerve conduction studies for the median, ulnar, peroneal, posterior tibial, and sural nerves. ⋯ The significant differences of CSA values between age groups were found only at certain sites, such as the median (wrist, P = .003), ulnar (medial epicondyle, P = .031; forearm, P = .022), radial (antecubital fossa, P = .037), and superficial radial sensory nerve (P = .028). The CSA significantly correlated with gender, height, weight, and body mass index. This study provides CSA reference values for nerves, including small sensory nerves in the upper extremity, which can be useful in the ultrasonographic investigation of various peripheral neuropathies in the upper extremity.
