Efficacy and safety of electroacupuncture in treatment of cervical spondylosis: A protocol of randomized controlled trial.
Cervical Spondylotic radiculopathy (CSR) is the most common spinal degenerative disease. Its clinical manifestations are pain and numbness in the neck and arm and limitation of neck movement, which greatly affects the life and work of patients. Acupuncture and electroacupuncture are commonly used in China, the efficacy of acupuncture has been confirmed. Existing evidence shows that electroacupuncture seems to be better than acupuncture, but there is a lack of clinical research to directly compare the two. ⋯ This study will directly compare the advantages and disadvantages of electroacupuncture and acupuncture in the treatment of CSR. The results of this study will help to guide patients with CSR to choose appropriate treatment.

Laparoscopic lumbar artery ligation of type II endoleaks following endovascular aneurysm repair: A case report.
Although the clinical significance of type II endoleaks remain controversial, management strategies continue to expand. The laparoscopic approach is a minimally invasive method for persistent type II endoleak repair after endovascular aneurysm repair. ⋯ Laparoscopic lumbar artery ligation may be a safe and effective alternative treatment for type II endoleaks, especially in high resource settings.

Uncomplicated bacteremia and catheter-related bloodstream infection (CRBSI) are frequently suggested as factors associated with low risk of infective endocarditis in Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia (SAB). Nevertheless, guidelines recommend that echocardiography in all patients with SAB. We evaluated the effects of echocardiography on patient outcomes. ⋯ In multivariable analysis, risk factors for treatment failure were liver cirrhosis (hazard ratio: 9.60; 95% confidence interval: 2.13-43.33; P = .003) and other prostheses (hazard ratio: 63.79; 95% confidence interval: 5.05-805.40; P = .001). This study did not verify the putative association between treatment failure and implementation of echocardiography in patients with uncomplicated S. aureus CRBSI. Given the low observed rates of adverse outcomes, routine echocardiography might not be obligatory and could be performed on an individual basis.

The distribution of ABO blood group is related to the incidence of various diseases. Gestational hypertensive disorders (GHD) is one of the most important risk factors during pregnancy, which has certain heredity. It is reported that ABO blood type is associated with the risk of GHD. However, the results are still controversial. In this study, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to clarify the relationship between ABO blood group and GHD. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/3X9YZ.

Clinical study of herbal mixture "Diding Oral Medicine" as an alternative to preventative antibiotics in perioperative hemorrhoids: A CARE-compliant article.
To study the clinical effects of Diding Oral Medicine as an alternative to preventative antibiotics in perioperative hemorrhoids. From August 2017 to February 2018, a total of 214 patients who were treated with external exfoliation and internal ligation of mixed hemorrhoids in our hospital were divided into the control group and experimental group by way of stratified random (107 cases in each group). Patients in the control group were given antibiotics preventatively before operation, while patients in the experimental group took Diding Oral Medicine before operation, and the white blood cell count, neutrophil count, wound recovery, pain score, anal bulge score, and pathogen culture of wound secretions were compared between the 2 groups. ⋯ The pain score and anal bulge score of the experimental group were decreased significantly compared to the control group (P < .05). In addition, the detection rate of pathogenic bacteria in the experimental group was downregulated significantly compared to the control group (P < .05). The Diding Oral Medicine has prominent bacteriostatic and antibacterial effects on patients with hemorrhoids during perioperative period, and promotes wound healing, reduces pain stress, and anal bulge.
