Meta Analysis
Psychosocial risk factors associated with esophageal cancer in Chinese cohort: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Previous studies were controversial about the role of psychosocial factors in the pathogenesis of esophageal cancer (EC). This study aimed to systematically evaluate the effect size of psychosocial risk factors for EC in Chinese cohort. A literature search was conducted in both English and Chinese databases, and odds ratios (OR) with the corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CI) were pooled using a random-effects model.28 studies were identified with a total of 6951 EC cases and 7469 controls. ⋯ A lower EC risk was found in the individuals with good interpersonal relationship (OR: 0.35, 95% CI: 0.17-0.70) and outgoing personality (OR: 0.39, 95% CI: 0.19-0.78). This meta-analysis suggested a potential association between psychosocial factors and EC risk. For the individuals with psychosocial risk factors, physicians should pay more attention to EC screening.

Tonifying spleen and replenishing kidney method of traditional Chinese medicine for myasthenia gravis: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis.
Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune antibody-mediated disorder caused by dysfunction at the neuromuscular junction spreads. The main clinical features of this disease are fluctuating fatigue, and weakness of the skeletal muscles of the eyes and limbs. At present, the tonifying the spleen and replenishing the kidney method in traditional Chinese medicine has been widely used for MG. The present study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the tonifying the spleen and replenishing the kidney method in traditional Chinese medicine for MG. ⋯ This study would provide credible evidence to determine whether the tonifying the spleen and replenishing the kidney method in traditional Chinese medicine is an effective treatment method for MG.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) can negatively affect men's mental health, interpersonal relationships, and overall well-being. ED has affected >150 million men worldwide, and this number will reach approximately 322 million by 2025. Although PDE5-Is is a landmark in the treatment of erectile dysfunction, it may have side effects such as penile pain, cardiovascular dysfunction, and deafness. Some studies have shown that acupuncture may have a positive effect on the pathophysiology of ED. Therefore, we will select all randomized controlled trials related to evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture treatment of ED. ⋯ INPLASY 202140040.

Radiation enteritis (RE) is a common complication that often occurs after radiotherapy for abdominal and pelvic malignancies. RE could influence patients' quality of life seriously and it is difficult to cure by conventional treatments. A lot of studies have revealed that the external treatment of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for RE is a safe and economical approach, but there is no relevant systematic review. The present study performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare TCM external treatment and conventional treatment for RE to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of external treatment of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of RE. ⋯ INPLASY202140120.
