Sepsis is a syndrome of infection-induced systemic inflammatory response. Conventional treatment combined with Shenfu injection (SFI) has been previously validated clinical effective in alleviating inflammatory response in patients with septic shock. However, evidence-based medical evidence is scant. Herein, we designed the protocol of a proposed study based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses guidelines, aiming to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of SFI in patients with sepsis. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/KCMDQ.

To explore the relationship between general movements (GMs) and neonatal behavior neurological assessment (NBNA)/cerebral magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in preterm infants. Forty preterm infants were examined with GMs assessment before gestational age of 40 weeks; NBNA was performed at the age of 40 weeks; cerebral MRI was performed at the age of 42 weeks. Our experiment showed that preterm infants with poor GMs scores are more likely to have low NBNA scores (P = .001); preterm infants with abnormal cerebral MRI are more likely to have low NBNA scores (P = .002); preterm infants with poor GMs scores are more likely to have abnormal cerebral MRI (P = .012). GM assessment is correlated with NBNA and MRI results in preterm infants for neurological development.

Prevesicular herpes zoster lumbar radiculopathy with transient motor paresis: A case report.
Herpes zoster frequently causes dermatomal vesicular rash accompanied by severe neuralgia, and reaching a differential diagnosis may be challenging before the appearance of the vesicular rash. ⋯ A high index of suspicion is necessary to differentiate early herpes zoster radiculitis before the appearance of vesicular rash from compressive radiculopathy. In L2-3 ipsilateral radiating pain along the dermatome or myotome, the absence of reverse Straight Leg Raise sign may be a possible factor in differentiating herpes zoster radiculitis from compressive radiculopathy.

Hsa_circ_0074491 regulates the malignance of cholesteatoma keratinocytes by modulating the PI3K/Akt pathway by binding to miR-22-3p and miR-125a-5p: An observational study.
Cholesteatoma is a benign cystic lesion that can continue to grow like a tumor. Circular ribonucleic acid (RNA) hsa_circ_0074491 (circ_0074491) has been reported to be down-regulated in cholesteatoma tissues. However, the role and regulatory mechanism of circ_0074491 in the growth of cholesteatoma are unclear. ⋯ Both miR-22-3p and miR-125a-5p silencing reversed the impacts of circ_0074491 silencing on proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and invasion of cholesteatoma keratinocytes. Also, circ_0074491 knockdown activated the PI3K/Akt pathway in cholesteatoma keratinocytes via miR-22-3p and miR-125a-5p. Circ_0074491 played a suppressive role in cholesteatoma through inactivating the PI3K/Akt pathway via binding to miR-22-3p and miR-125a-5p, which provided a novel evidence for the involvement of circRNA in the development of cholesteatoma.

The efficacy of fish oil in preventing coronary heart disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Coronary heart disease (CHD) is one of the most common causes of death and disease burden in the world. Current fish oil aiming to prevent and treat CHD have shown a large variety of effects with low levels of evidence. ⋯ CRD42020183719.
