Anal cancer is a human papillomavirus-related cancer. Screening with high-resolution anoscopy (HRA) and subsequent therapeutic intervention are increasingly recognized as the standard procedure for anal cancer. Generally, lesions suspected as being high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions are biopsied and treated if they are grade 2 or 3 anal intraepithelial neoplasia (AIN). According to several studies, electrocautery ablation for grade 2 or 3 AIN is highly effective. However, relapse within and outside the targeted areas after the intervention is a clinical problem. In Japan, electrocautery ablation is not available at most facilities. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the efficacy and safety of electrocautery ablation. ⋯ This pilot study will provide data on the effectiveness and safety of electrocautery ablation as a treatment for grade 2 or 3 AIN.

Although balloon-expandable stent implantation for native aortic coarctation is a preferred method in the adolescent age group, there are insufficient data about indications for and the efficacy of the procedure in a younger age group. The aim of this study was to compare and evaluate the data of young pediatric and adolescent patients who underwent balloon-expandable stent implantation because of native aortic coarctation. The retrospective analysis included the demographic characteristics and data related to the procedure and follow-up of patients who underwent stent implantation for native aortic coarctation between August 2010 and November 2017. ⋯ All the complications were treated successfully. All the patients were taking anti-hypertensive drugs before intervention and during the mean 23-month follow-up period (range, 2-84 months), hypertension recovered in 35 (80%) patients and drugs were terminated. Stent implantation for aortic coarctation in the pediatric age group may provide pleasing results, reducing the coarctation gradient, providing effective dilatation in the lesion area and eliminating hypertension.

In sufferers with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), the differences of thyroid associated hormones and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in different liver pathological groups have been compared. ⋯ In this study, we found that serum thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) were closely associated to the severity of NAFLD, suggesting that this simple available laboratory index may additionally be incorporated into the future noninvasive diagnostic scoring model to predict the incidence of NASH and the degree of fibrosis.

Observational Study
The association between lifestyles and health conditions and the choice of traditional Chinese medical treatment in China: A latent class analysis.
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) plays a major role in preventing and treating the disease, however, it is also facing a slice of challenges as fewer choices of TCM treatment. Although lifestyles and health conditions might be paramount influencing factors for the choice of TCM treatment, the relative evidence is scarce. The current observational study was designed to evaluate this association. ⋯ Sex-specific difference was observed, the relationship still existed among the males. The current study revealed the relationship between lifestyles, health conditions and the choice of TCM treatment. This will provide evidence for the TCM development and provide support for further research.
