Aldolase B (ALDOB) gene is essential for the process of glycolysis and differentially expressed in cancers. The aims of this study were to explore the potential role of ALDOB in pan-cancer, in order to deepen the research on the pathological mechanism of cancer. Hence, we used several online tools (TIMER2, GEPIA2, UALCAN, cBioPortal, and MXPRESS) and R language to identify the correlation between the ALDOB expression and survival analysis, genetic alteration, DNA methylation, and immune cell infiltration based on The Cancer Genome Atlas project. ⋯ Besides, ALDOB expression was confirmed to be associated with tumor immune cell infiltration, especially in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), esophageal carcinoma (ESCA), and testicular germ cell tumors (TGCT) cases. Further, the enrichment analysis demonstrated that metabolic pathway was closely related to ALDOB expression. Our results provide a comprehensive pan-cancer analysis and suggest ALDOB could act as a promising tumor predictive biomarker for human cancer.

Marriage has been reported as a beneficial factor associated with improved survival among cancer patients, but conflicting results have been observed in cervical adenocarcinoma (AC). Thus, this study is aimed to examine the relationship between the prognosis of cervical AC and marital status. Eligible patients were selected from 2004 to 2015 using the surveillance, epidemiology and end results (SEER) database. ⋯ Multivariate analysis showed that marital status was an independent prognostic factor, and the married group performed better CSS (hazard ratio [HR]: 0.770; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.663-0.895; P = .001) as well as OS (HR: 0.751; 95%CI: 0.653-0.863; P < .001). As demonstrated by the results of subgroup analysis, married patients had better CSS and OS survival than unmarried ones in nearly all the subgroups. Marital status was identified as an independent prognostic factor for improved survival in patients with cervical AC.

Patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) complicated with cryptococcal meningitis (CM) are easy to be misdiagnosed as neuropsychiatric lupus or tuberculous meningitis due to the lack of specificity of clinical symptoms, which may delay treatment. Through this case, we considered early improvement of India ink stain of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and metagenomic next generation sequences to determine whether there is microbial infection, and gave the idea of empirical anti-infection therapy, so as to make early diagnosis and slow down the progression of the disease. ⋯ The possibility of CM should be considered when SLE patients have sudden headache and fever. India ink stain of CSF and metagenomic next generation sequences should be actively improved in the early stage of the disease to identify whether there is microbial infection, and early empirical anti-infection treatment should be given to reduce mortality.

The analgesic efficacy of pregabalin versus placebo for septorhinoplasty: A meta-analysis.
The analgesic efficacy of pregabalin supplementation for septorhinoplasty remains elusive. This meta-analysis was conducted to compare pregabalin supplementation with placebo for the postoperative pain control of septorhinoplasty. ⋯ Pregabalin supplementation was effective to improve pain relief after septorhinoplasty.

Laparoscopic banded sleeve gastrectomy (LBSG) has been compared to laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) in terms of anthropometric results and postoperative complications, which are controversial. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the safety and efficacy of LBSG and LSG. ⋯ This systematic review and meta-analysis comparing LBSG and LSG concluded that banding sleeve gastrectomy (SG) may ensure a lower BMI and %EWL after 1 year of follow-up, and a significant reduction in %EWL after 3 years of follow-up. There is no evidence to support LBSG in vomiting, de novo GERD, food intolerance, or operative time.
