Blocking screw technique has been widely applied in the treatment of long shaft fractures. However, the evidence with regard to whether intramedullary nail combined with blocking screw technique has better clinical efficacy over other is not clear. The aim of the study was to explore the clinical efficacy and complications of intramedullary nail combined with blocking screw technique in the treatment of femoral or tibial shaft fractures. ⋯ Current evidence shows that intramedullary nail combined with blocking screw technique in the treatment of lower limb long bone fracture has the advantages of good clinical efficacy, high fracture healing rate, short fracture healing time, good joint function, less complications and so on, which is worthy of clinical recommendation.

5-Methylcytidine (m5C) methylation is a recently emerging epigenetic modification that is closely related to tumor proliferation, occurrence, and metastasis. This study aimed to investigate the clinicopathological characteristics and prognostic value of m5C regulators in bladder cancer (BLCA), and their correlation with the tumor immune microenvironment. ⋯ Our findings demonstrated the potential of ALYREF to predict clinical prognostic risks in BLCA patients and regulate the tumor immune microenvironment. As such, ALYREF may serve as a novel prognostic indicator in BLCA patients.

Development and validation of a nomogram for predicting depressive symptoms in dentistry patients: A cross-sectional study.
Depressive symptoms are frequently occur among dentistry patients, many of whom struggle with dental anxiety and poor oral conditions. Identifying the factors that influence these symptoms can enable dentists to recognize and address mental health concerns more effectively. This study aimed to investigate the factors associated with depressive symptoms in dentistry patients and develop a clinical tool, a nomogram, to assist dentists in predicting these symptoms. ⋯ Net Reclassification Improvement (NRI) and Integrated Discrimination Improvement (IDI) indicated that Nomogram1, which included oral-related factors (oral health and dental anxiety), outperformed Nomogram2. We developed a nomogram to predict depressive symptoms in dentistry patients. Importantly, this nomogram can serve as a valuable psychometric tool for dentists, facilitating the assessment of their patients' mental health and enabling more tailored treatment plans.

Electroacupuncture alters brain network functional connectivity in subacute stroke: A randomised crossover trial.
Electroacupuncture (EA) is a promising rehabilitation treatment for upper-limb motor recovery in stroke patients. However, the neurophysiological mechanisms underlying its clinical efficacy remain unclear. This study aimed to explore the immediate modulatory effects of EA on brain network functional connectivity and topological properties. ⋯ These findings suggest that EA downregulates ipsilesional parietofrontal network connectivity and enhances SW properties, providing a potential neurophysiological mechanism for facilitating motor performance in stroke patients.

Sirolimus combined with glucocorticoids in the treatment of Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon in a neonate: A case report.
Kaposiform hemangioendothelioma is an aggressive vascular tumor that is often associated with life-threatening coagulopathies and Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon. Pathologic biopsies can provide a good basis for diagnosis and treatment. Therapy with srolimus combined with glucocorticoids may offer patients a favorable prognosis. ⋯ Sirolimus combined with glucocorticoids is effective in controlling Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon and pathologic biopsy is important for definitive diagnosis.
