People with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) are vulnerable group to experience mood disorders. It is crucial to identify factors that contribute to depression and anxiety in order to improve outcomes. This study seeks to determine the rates of depression and anxiety in Syrian AS patients, as well as identify potential predictors for these conditions. ⋯ This study demonstrated high levels of that depressive and anxiety symptoms among Syrian patients with AS undergoing biological treatment. Poor quality of life, severe fatigue, and high-frequency sleep disturbances are major predictive factors for depressive and anxiety symptoms. Screening for depression and anxiety holds significant importance in the comprehensive management of ankylosing spondylitis even in the context of concurrent biological treatment administration.

The gallstone disease is becoming increasingly prevalent worldwide. Dietary trace minerals have been proven to be closely related to many metabolic diseases, and this study aims to explore the association between intakes of dietary trace minerals (copper, iron, selenium, and zinc) and gallstone disease (GSD). Using the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 2017 to 2018, intakes of dietary trace minerals and GSD data were obtained through a 24-hour recall and diagnostic questionnaire, respectively. ⋯ However, after adjusting for all covariates, significant association was demonstrated between dietary copper (Cu) intake and GSD (OR = 0.66, 95% CI = 0.45-0.98). After conducting a weighted quantile logistic regression, a significant negative correlation was also found between dietary Cu intake and highest GSD quartile (Q4) (OR = 0.45, 95% CI = 0.26-0.80). Following the research outlined above, no association was found between intakes of dietary trace minerals (iron, selenium, and zinc) and GSD; however, a linear negative association was identified between dietary Cu intake and GSD.

Fragment excision and triceps V-Y advanced reattachment using suture anchor for olecranon nonunion: A case report.
The nonunion of olecranon fractures is uncommon in simple fractures, and it is challenging to treat surgically due to the disruption of the anatomy of the elbow joint. There is limited literature on surgical options, and several factors to determine the treatment, including the amount and quality of bone stock, age, and degree of articular damage. ⋯ This technique is useful in patients who cannot undergo other surgical options due to insufficient bone quality and elbow function, and it can lead to satisfactory outcomes with an acceptable range of motion and pain relief.

Air embolization is usually an iatrogenic complication that can occur in both veins and arteries. Intravenous air embolization is mainly associated with large central vein catheters and mechanical ventilation. A 59-year-old woman was sent to our hospital with spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage and treated conservatively with a left forearm peripheral venous catheter infusion drug. After 48 hours, the patient's oxygen saturation decreased to 92 % with snoring breathing. Computer tomography of the head and chest revealed scattered gas in the right subclavian, the right edge of the sternum, the superior vena cava, and the leading edge of the heart shadow. ⋯ Air embolism can occur in any clinical scenario, suggesting that medical staff should enhance the ability to identify and deal with air embolism. For similar cases in clinical practice, air embolism can be considered.

Pyroptosis is a programmed cell death, which has garnered increasing attention because it relates to the immune and therapy response. However, few studies focus on the application of pyroptosis-related genes (PRGs) in predicting osteosarcoma (OS) patients' prognoses. In this study, the gene expression and clinical information of OS patients were downloaded from the Therapeutically Applicable Research to Generate Effective Treatments (TARGET) database. ⋯ A nomogram was developed with clinical indicators and the risk scores were effective in predicting the prognosis of patients with OS. In this study, a prognostic model was constructed based on 8 PRGs were proved to be independent prognostic factors of OS and associated with tumor immune microenvironment. These 8 prognostic genes were involved in OS development and may serve as new targets for developing therapeutic drugs.
