Exploring resident thriving in relation to the nursing home environment: A cross-sectional study.
To explore the extent to which environmental factors are associated with resident thriving. ⋯ Nursing home environments may have an impact on residents' thriving. A positive psychosocial climate of units seems to have an important role in facilitating thriving in nursing home residents.

The aim of this study was to examine the pathway through which intimate partner violence (IPV) severity and child abuse severity influence obesity among women who have experienced IPV. ⋯ The alarming rate of obesity among abused women suggests that these women are at great risk for obesity, which necessitates clinical consideration. The study findings highlight the need to treat depressive symptoms to manage and prevent obesity among IPV and child abuse survivors. Specifically, nurses should tailor interventions that address mental health outcomes of abuse in managing obesity.

The aim of this research is to measure the impact that planned changes to nurse staffing and skill-mix have on patient, nurse, and organizational outcomes. ⋯ The study aims to provide evidence on the impact of planned changes to nurse staffing and skill-mix based on a systematic approach using a longitudinal design and to determine the extent to which the approach can be implemented at a national level.

To identify the methodological quality of each study and analyse the psychometric properties of instruments measuring quality and satisfaction with care from the perspective of mental health patients and professionals. ⋯ The present psychometric review found that five of the instruments met valid psychometric criteria. In light of the current economic situation, future reviews should include analysis of the usefulness of instruments based on cost-effectiveness, acceptability, and educational impact.

To report on the development and validation of the Moral Distress in Dementia Care Survey instrument. ⋯ The Moral Distress in Dementia Care Survey is a potentially useful tool for estimating the frequency, severity and effects of moral distress in nursing staff working in dementia care settings and for the evaluation of measures taken to mitigate moral distress.
