  Chemoprophylactic Anticoagulation Following Lumbar Surgery Significantly Reduces Thromboembolic Events After Instrumented Fusions, Not Decompressions.

  Retrospective cohort. ⋯ Among patients undergoing instrumented lumbar fusions, chemoprophylactic anticoagulation causes a significant reduction in VTE, but causes no significant reduction among patients undergoing noninstrumented lumbar decompression.
