Clinical evaluation of a novel test strip technology for blood glucose monitoring: accuracy at hypoglycaemic glucose levels.
To evaluate OneTouch® Verio™ test strip performance at hypoglycaemic blood glucose (BG) levels (<3.9 mmol/L [<70 mg/dL]) at seven clinical studies. ⋯ In this analysis of data from seven independent studies, OneTouch Verio test strips provide highly accurate results at hypoglycaemic BG levels.

C-peptide response to glucagon challenge is correlated with improvement of early insulin secretion by liraglutide treatment.
The amelioration of glucose tolerance by liraglutide was associated with a significant improvement of early insulin-response during OGTT. The serum C-peptide response to glucagon challenge strongly correlated with the improvement of the early insulin-response. The C-peptide response to glucagon challenge would be useful to predict therapeutic response to liraglutide.

Meta AnalysisIncreased risk of bladder cancer with pioglitazone therapy in patients with diabetes: a meta-analysis.
Emerging studies suggest a possible increased risk of bladder cancer with pioglitazone therapy. We therefore pooled data available to examine the association between pioglitazone therapy and bladder cancer in patients with diabetes. ⋯ Pioglitazone treatment appears to be associated with a significantly increased risk of bladder cancer in patients with diabetes.
