Randomized Controlled Trial
The effect of anaesthesia technique on maternal and cord blood ischaemia-modified albumin levels during caesarean section: a randomized controlled study.
Ischaemia-modified albumin (IMA) is an early marker for various ischaemic events, including cardiac ischaemia. This study determined variations in IMA levels during caesarean section, performed under general anaesthesia or with combined spinal epidural anaesthesia. ⋯ Lower IMA levels in the combined spinal epidural anaesthesia group may have been due to improved balancing of oxidative stress during caesarean section. Further research on IMA levels during caesarean section should take into account the method of anaesthesia used.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled multicentre study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of diclofenac 4% spray gel in the treatment of acute uncomplicated ankle sprain.
A prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group multicentre study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of diclofenac 4% spray gel for the treatment of acute, uncomplicated ankle sprain. ⋯ Diclofenac 4% spray gel rapidly relieves pain and improves mobility in patients with acute, uncomplicated ankle sprain and is well tolerated. It may be a useful treatment option for other acute soft tissue injuries.

Meta Analysis
Diagnostic accuracy of neutrophil CD64 expression in neonatal infection: a meta-analysis.
The aim of the present study was to establish the predictive values of neutrophil CD64 expression in diagnosing neonatal infection. ⋯ Neutrophil CD64 expression can be used as an additional test in the diagnosis of neonatal infection. Results of a CD64 assay should not be used alone to diagnose such infections, but should be interpreted in combination with other test results and clinical findings.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Clinical effects of intrathecal fentanyl on shoulder tip pain in laparoscopic total extraperitoneal inguinal hernia repair under spinal anaesthesia: a double-blind, prospective, randomized controlled trial.
The study evaluated the clinical intraoperative effects of intrathecal administration of fentanyl on shoulder tip pain in patients undergoing laparoscopic total extraperitoneal inguinal hernia repair (TEP) under spinal anaesthesia. ⋯ Addition of intrathecal fentanyl to local anaesthetic can relieve shoulder tip pain with no change in complications, especially hypotension, during TEP under spinal anaesthesia.

To investigate the association between toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and human papillomavirus (HPV) infection among Chinese Han women with cervical cancer. ⋯ The TLR9 2848 G/A polymorphism in Chinese Han women was associated with increased risk of cervical cancer in the presence of HPV16 infection. Further studies are necessary to uncover the functional aspect of this TLR9 2848 polymorphism.
