Application of the Hollow-Fiber Infection Model to Personalized Precision Dosing of Isoniazid in a Clinical Setting.
The hollow-fiber infection model (HFIM) is a valuable tool for evaluating pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics relationships and determining the optimal antibiotic dose in monotherapy or combination therapy, but the application for personalized precision medicine in tuberculosis treatment remains limited. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of adjusted antibiotic doses for a tuberculosis patient using HFIM. ⋯ Our results provide an example of the utility of the HFIM for predicting the efficacy of specific recommended doses of anti-tuberculosis drugs in real clinical setting.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyIncidence of Clostridioides difficile Infections in Republic of Korea: A Prospective Study With Active Surveillance vs. National Data From Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service.
Since the emergence of hypervirulent strains of Clostridioides difficile, the incidence of C. difficile infections (CDI) has increased significantly. ⋯ The incidence of CDI in Korea has been gradually increasing, and its recent value is as high as that in the United State and Europe. CDI is underestimated, particularly in general hospitals in Korea.

Social Inequities in the Survival of Liver Cancer: A Nationwide Cohort Study in Korea, 2007-2017.
To analyze the effects of socioeconomic status (type of insurance and income level) and cancer stage on the survival of patients with liver cancer in Korea. ⋯ Liver cancer patients with lower socioeconomic status and more severe cancer stages were at greater risk of death. Reducing social inequalities is needed to improve mortality rates among patients in lower social class groups who present with advanced cancer.

ReviewTwenty Years of Progress and the Way Forward: Immunization Registry Information System in Korea.
The National Immunization Program in The Republic of Korea offers mandatory and free vaccinations to children under 12, regulated by the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act. Tracking vaccination coverage is crucial for population protection and public health strategies. Since 2002, the Immunization Registry Information System (IRIS) has been used nationwide to capture vaccination data. ⋯ IRIS also sends automated reminders in 12 languages, reports adverse effects, and issues vaccination certificates. However, IRIS lacks integration between vaccine and disease registries, unlike countries such as England, Denmark, and the Netherlands. Improving integration capabilities could enhance IRIS's support for public health through an integrated information system.
