Association between Plasma Pentraxin 3 Levels and Bone Mineral Density in Elderly Koreans: the Dong-gu Study.
We investigated the association between pentraxin 3 (PTX3), a novel inflammatory marker, and bone mineral density (BMD) in the general Korean population. ⋯ This study suggests that PTX3 levels might be inversely associated with BMD in elderly men.

Optimal Endoscopic Screening Interval for Early Detection of Gastric Cancer: a Single-Center Study.
The optimal endoscopic screening interval for early gastric cancer (EGC) detection still remains controversial. Thus, we performed this prospective study to clarify the optimal interval between endoscopic examinations for EGC detection. ⋯ Triennial endoscopic screening might be as effective as biennial screening in increasing the detection rate of EGC and the risk of subsequent curable endoscopic resections.

Disease Characteristics and Change in Arthritis Activity according to Treatment in Hepatitis B Surface Antigen-positive Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients: a Retrospective Chart Review Study.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) treatment may differ according to hepatitis B state and consequently may bring about different arthritis outcomes. However, whether hepatitis B affects treatment outcome remains unclear. We investigated differences in change in arthritis activity between RA patients according to concomitant hepatitis B virus infection. ⋯ RA medication use varied according to HBsAg-positivity. However, improvement in RA activity was not significantly affected by concomitant hepatitis B infection.

Impact of the Health Insurance Coverage Policy on Oral Anticoagulant Prescription among Patients with Atrial Fibrillation in Korea from 2014 to 2016.
To evaluate oral anticoagulant (OAC) utilization in patients with atrial fibrillation after the changes in the health insurance coverage policy in July 2015. ⋯ The change of health insurance coverage policy substantially influenced OACs prescription pattern in whole Korean region. But the impact has been significantly different among regions and age groups, which provides the evidence for developing standard clinical practice guideline on OACs use.
